Almost everywhere I have traveled in search of interesting plastics to work with I have come across these perforated lids, which I understand to be fishing bait containers. I originally assumed the they contained a power that could be sprinkled into the water, but now I think about it and work with the objects I realise that the perforations are in fact breathing holes for live bait. Many of the lids display fine images of which fish are attracted to their contents, and here in this first version of the bait lid series, I have collected the finest examples together. Each has been set into a bed of epoxy resin and labeled as usual, marking the date and place of retrieval.
