creative thoughts – #01 – kit bashing

Model makers are resolved to any means possible when recreating their visions. Along with vast amounts of specialised components, scale models and landscape textures, they often resort to raiding components from existing models to repurpose them. Within this area of interest there is a sub-genre discipline that takes an existing model structure and pulls it apart in order to harvest those parts to build something else; this is one of the scenarios I run when I find things. Can it be broken down and redesigned into something else that still shows where it came from?

As I collect more and more, and develop a wider range of approaches, I have a larger amount of plastic components available to choose from. I now have a lot of objects that I am waiting for the right opportunity to introduce them to.
