Welcome to my third newsletter.
Lots more thoughts and ideas on shipwrecks, adventure and life in the ocean deep at the moment are acting as the inspiration for the development a several series of works. Most exciting are a series of studies of microscopic deep sea marine life, with special attention to the application of lighting and an opportunity to create interactive programmable light sequences within the creatures themselves. I am going to apply micro controller technology to a new use of led light sources next so that I can more fully control lighting effects. I am inspired the the Angler fish's use of light for fishing amongst other things.
Today is the last day of the Bluedotgeneration 'Arts for Education' exhibition and events programme at House of Vans, Waterloo, London. They selected my Seabeast#01 to explore use of ocean plastic waste in arts and creativity, and it was great to be a part of their event.
DysonDC10 is now completely dismantled ready for its mutation into some kind of insect-based creature. I am not yet sure where it is going but I have been looking at wasps and hornets and I like their structure and attitude.
Soon I will post a few more amazing plastic stories including one that involves the same Playmobil ship as my 'Ghostship'.
Thanks for reading!
