newsletter#07 October 2019

Welcome to my seventh newsletter.

It has been a busy few months preparing for the 21st Bridport Open Studios, my first appearance at this event. Several unseen works came out for the duration of the 10 day event, and I managed to complete 2 new pieces as well as a complete rebuild of the case and lighting for Seabeast#01, now back to it’s original fluorescent  tube, dimmer controlled light box, the original design.

Almost 100 people came to visit the open studios event and the feedback was amazing as I have rarely received so many visitors to view any of my work - thank you so much to everyone who made the effort, I hope you enjoyed the work, the weather and location.

Running parallel to the Bridport Open Studios until the 23rd September was the ‘From the Studios’ show at Bridport’s Literary & Scientific Institute. My own work ‘Strawssardegna’ were amongst 12 works from artists representing the open studios event, and once again thanks to everyone who attended the launch evening, and a massive thank you to Kit Glaisyer and all the team at Bridport Open Studios who are tirelessly promoting the arts in West Dorset.

Three more events are happening before the end of the year.

Firstly, some of my repetition works will be on show and available to buy at a popup store in New Bond St, details to follow once opening dates are confirmed. I have made a new repetition work especially for this event. See it here and read the story before you visit.

The next two events both feature the Seabeast again, now in its forth and fifth shows. The first show will be The London Ultra at The Bargehouse, Oxo Tower on The South Bank in London from the 31st October until the 10th November. The private view will feature a halloween fancy dress night so if you want to join, you will need to register on eventbrite, tickets free if you dress up, £10 if you don’t! Follow the event updates on Facebook.

The second Seabeast outing will be at The London Group Open, part 1, from the 20th to the 29th November 2019 at The Cello Factory in Lambeth, South London. I am very excited to be a part of this prestigious event.

It would be great to see you all there, and thanks for looking.
