I was very excited to find this story as I have made a piece, my Ghostship from the same Playmobil Pirate Ship model, which was donated to me along with a castle and hair salon a couple of years ago.
A family in Aberdeenshire fitted out their ship with extra buoyancy additions and a GPS tracker and cast the vessel out into the North Sea. It has since traveled to Denmark, relaunched to Sweden, and whilst on way from Norway, was picked up up by a Norwegian ship and set off again from the West coast of Africa. It is currently heading towards the Caribbean.
