This sculpture continues my exploration of imaginary deep sea creatures. I have been studying the incredibly diverse and alien looking forms and structures of life in the deepest recesses of the oceans like the Mariana Trench, and have been fascinated by the use of light and movement.
This first of these imagined creatures has a skeleton made from a stack of donated block spacers and parts of an activity toy in grey. Led lights are attached to the underside to give that translucent feel and a suggestion of motion.
