This was an exciting find as I have already found many of these little blue objects in the area along the beaches directly below the headland where these were collected, and have actually made a small work from several of them before entitled kinderlorry, a tiny sculpture depicting an old Italian lorry transporting what I imagined to be huge blue bombs, struggling under the strain. I showed one of these 'bombs' to the owner of the campsite opposite the headland, and he immediately recognised them as practise rounds used by soldiers in the 1980's when they were aiming at targets floating out at sea. This explains why they still wash up on the beaches but not why I found so many in the dirt on the headland. Perhaps there were other soft target areas as so many of the rounds are unscathed, with only a very few flattened on impact.
